74th Plant Breeder Meeting 2023 / 47. Pflanzenzüchter*innentagung
Zielgruppe
Plant breeders, teachers of agricultural vocational schools, advisors in the agriculture and forestry extension service and farmers
Kurzbeschreibung
New sensing technology for affordable phenotyping in plant breeding:
New sensing technology and instruments, artificial intelligence and big data analysis pipelines have developed rapidly in recent years. Almost all kinds of monitoring, formerly applied mainly on a micro scale such as plant physiological experiments in artificial climate chambers, were meanwhile also translated to a macro scale, e.g. for an efficient management of land and agricultural products by monitoring soil moisture or pest and disease infestation. We invite you to present your recent research results on the application of affordable phenotyping technology in plant breeding, agricultural and environmental monitoring with respect to:
- estimation of plant growth
- evaluation of abiotic and biotic stresses
- evaluation of nutrient and water use efficiency
- phenotyping of roots
Results from ECOBREED and other ongoing research projects:
The H2020 research project ECOBREED will present recent research results on topics related to improvements in wheat, potato, soybean and buckwheat for organic farming. Other research projects are welcomed to present their results in specific sessions.
Free topics:
Traditionally the Gumpenstein Meeting also welcomes lectures deviant from the conference´s prime topics if the papers present new and interesting findings for the breeding community.
